Typusfundort: Tansania: Victoriasee-Becken: Moame-System: flache, kreisförmige Becken und Entwässerungsgräben sowie überflutete Grasflächen neben Reisfeldern, 71 km südöstlich von Mwanza in Richtung Shinyanga auf der Straße B6 oder 10 km südöstlich von Mabuki in Richtung Runere, 3°04'13"S, 33°14'33"E (Karte).

Etymologie

Benannt nach dem Fluss Moame, in dessen Einzugsgebiet diese Art endemisch vorkommt.

Verbreitung

Tansania: in saisonalen Teichen und Sümpfen im Norden Tansanias endemisch, die mit dem Moame und anderen kleineren Flusssystemen südlich des Victoriasees im Moame-System verbunden sind.
