Typusfundort: Uganda, oberes Nil-Einzugsgebiet, Achwa Einzugsgebiet, temporärer Sumpf im Aringa System, ca. 2,6 km südlich der Ortschaft Madi Opei, 3.575556 N, 33.079167 E (Karte).

Etymologie

Elucens (= ausstrahlen), bezieht sich auf das charakteristische hellblaue subdistale Band in den Anal- und Schwanzflossen, das sich von der insgesamt dunklen Färbung von Körper und Flossen der Männchen abhebt und ausstrahlt.

Verbreitung

Uganda: Derzeit bekannt aus einem temporären Sumpf, der sich in der Au des saisonalen Aringa-Flusssystems gebildet hat. Der Aringa mündet in den Pager, einen Nebenfluss des Achwa innerhalb des oberen Nil-Einzugs in Norduganda.
