Typusfundort: Tansania: Victoriasee-Becken: Grumeti-System: Teiche auf beiden Straßenseiten an einem Durchlass, 56 km westlich des Ikoma-Tores in Richtung Bunda, 7 km westlich von Nata, 2°00'41"S, 34°23'47"E (Karte).

Etymologie

Benannt zu Ehren von Sir David F. Attenborough in Anerkennung seiner engagierten Bemühungen zur Förderung der Sensibilisierung für die Wunder und Schönheiten der Natur für so viele Menschen weltweit, Förderung des Bewusstseins für die Bedeutung des Schutzes der biologischen Vielfalt und darüber hinaus inspirierte er so viele Forscher auf dem Gebiet der Naturgeschichte, einschließlich der Autoren dieser Art.

Verbreitung

Tansania: Süßwasserlebensräume im Norden Tansanias. Aus temporären Becken und Sümpfen bekannt, die mit den Grumeti und anderen kleinen Systemen in Verbindung stehen, die an der Ostseite des Sees in den Victoriasee abfließen. Das Verbreitungsgebiet ist weitgehend mit dem Serengeti-Mara-Ökosystem identisch.
