Etymologie
Patronym nicht identifiziert, aber eindeutig zu Ehren des amerikanischen Ichthyologen Nathan Everett Pearson (1895-1982), Eigenmanns Schüler und Autor der Arbeit, in der die Beschreibung erschien, und der wahrscheinlich den Holotypus sammelte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
