Typusfundort: Ostküste von Zentral-Hondo, 33°25'10"N, 135°37'20"E (Karte), Japan, Albatros-Station 4967, Tiefe 244-253 Faden.
Etymologie
Benannt nach der Typuslokalität: Nippon (= Japan).
Verbreitung
Japan und Taiwan: Bekannt von der Pazifikküste Japans, im Norden bis nach Choshi (35.74°N; Präfektur Chiba), Okinawa Trog und dem nördlichen Südchinesischen Meer. Tiefenbereich 250–550 m plus ein einzelnes Exemplar in einer Tiefe von 445–1185 m.
