Typusfundort: Makassar Straße, zwischen Borneo und Sulawesi, Indonesien, Albatross Station 5667, 2°56'00"S, 118°47'30"E (Karte), Tiefe 367 Faden.
Etymologie
Von alis (= bezogen auf): brachium (= Arm), bezieht sich auf lange Brustflossen.
Verbreitung
Westlicher Zentral Pazifik: nur von zwei Exemplaren bekannt, die 1909 in der Macassar-Straße zwischen Borneo und Celebes gesammelt wurden.
