Etymologie
Etymologie nicht erklärt, vielleicht von hypso- (= hoch), aber die Anspielung ist nicht ersichtlich; ophrys (= Augenbraue), aber in diesem Fall möglicherweise darauf bezogen, wie Agassiz sagte, dass sie Chrysophrys (Sparidae) ähnelte. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
