Typusfundort: Original Syntypen (verschollen): In der Nähe von Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, Australien; Neotypus: Stokes Bay, Kangaroo Island.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von John Bracebridge Wilson (1828-1895), Schulleiter und Naturforscher, der bei der Suche nach Muscheln, Algen und Schwämmen in der Nähe von Port Phillip Heads, Victoria, Australien, Typusexemplare sammelte.
Verbreitung
Südlicher Indopazifik: bekannt von der Eden-Region im südlichen New South Wales bis zur Kangaroo-Insel und Yorke-Halbinsel in Südaustralien, einschließlich Victoria und vereinzelter Orte in Tasmanien.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 5.4.2024:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
