Etymologie
Kombination von Heros und Tilapia (damals eine afrikanische Sammelgattung), bezieht sich auf ein „seltsames“ Gebiss, das an letztere erinnert, während alle anderen Merkmale mit ersterer Gattung übereinstimmen. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
