Etymologie
Helios (= Sonne), bezieht sich auf die markant angeordneten Brustscheibenradien, die nach außen zu "strahlen" scheinen; trygon (= griechisch für Stechrochen), möglicherweise abgeleitet von tri- (= drei) und gonio- (= Winkel), bezieht sich auf die dreieckige Form einiger Stechrochen, die von Kopf und Brustflossen gebildet wird.
