Etymologie
Das Art-Epithet gianetii ist Dr. Michel Donato Gianeti gewidmet, dem Sammlungsmanager der ichthyologischen Sammlung des Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo, in Anerkennung der freundlichen Unterstützung sowohl beim Besuch der ichthyologischen Sammlung des MZUSP, als auch durch zur Verfügung gestellte Leihgaben und das Management bei der Anforderung von Daten.
