Benannt zu Ehren des verstorbenen bedeutenden Ichthyologen Dr. John E. Randall.

Verbreitung

Südchinesisches Meer: westliche Küste des Golfs von Tonking, südlich bis Lang Co der Provinz Thua Thien Hue, nördlich bis zur südlichen Provinz Fujian (China) und zur Insel Penghu (Taiwan).
