Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: Ostafrika, Südafrika, Persischer Golf, Madagaskar und Mascarenes östlich bis zu den Marshallinseln, Tonga und Linieninseln, nördlich bis zum südlichen Japanischen Meer, südlich bis Westaustralien und Neukaledonien.

Status: Stand 16.01.2021:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Ein nicht nachhaltige Fischerei in einigen Gebieten kann zu lokalen Rückgängen führen, dies wird jedoch auf globaler Ebene nicht als große Bedrohung angesehen. Der Fischereiaufwand kann in einigen Gebieten zunehmen, aber der Aufwand tritt im Allgemeinen nur im flacheren Teil des weiten Tiefenbereichs dieser Art auf.
