Paralectotypen: BMNH 1901.12.31.95 (1), 1901.12.31.96-98 (?1 of 4). (Hinweis: Anzahl der Paralectotypen ist größer als die Gesamtzahl der Syntypen!).
Typusfundort: Malediven, Indischer Ozean, 27-44 Faden Tiefe.

Etymologie

Verbreitung

Im Indo-Westpazifik weit verbreitet: Süd-Japan, Taiwan, Südchinesisches Meer, Philippinen, Nordwest-Australien, Korallenmeer und Malediven. Bathymetrischer Bereich 30-215 m, gewöhnlich 30-75 m (Amaoka et al., 1993). In Taiwan wird die Art üblicherweise in Tiefen von weniger als 100 m gesammelt.

Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Für diese Art sind keine größeren Gefahren bekannt. Dies ist ein relativ kleiner Plattfisch (bis zu 12,7 cm SL), der in Gewässern vorkommt, in denen Schleppnetzfischerei auftreten kann. Er kann als Beifang dieser Grundschleppnetzfischerei auftreten.
