Typusfundort: Westseite der Insel Sesoko, Okinawa-Insel, Ryukyu-Inseln, Japan, Tiefe 32 Meter.

Westlicher Nordpazifik: Südjapan, Ryukyu-Inseln und Ogasawara-Inseln.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 17.12.2017: LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Es gibt keine bekannten Gefahren für diese Art, obwohl sie für den Aquariumhandel gefangen wird.
