Typusfundort: Les, Nordost-Bali, Indonesien, 8°07'43.7"S, 115°21'53.0"E (Karte), 8–12 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Vincent Chalias, einem erfahrenen Unterwasserfotografen, Feldbiologen und Befürworter der Korallen- und Fischaquakultur auf Bali. Durch seine exzellenten Unterwasserfotos und detaillierten Feldbeobachtungen half er sehr bei der Beschreibung der Art.
Verbreitung
Bekannt aus Bali, Sumbawa, Lombok, Flores, Komodo und Rinca; wird auch aus Wakatobi, Sulawesi, berichtet.
