Etymologie
Rugosus (= runzelig oder faltig), Anspielung nicht erklärt, bezieht sich wahrscheinlich auf den "raueren" Kopf (die "supraorbitalen Ränder mehr erhöht" im Vergleich zum "runzeligeren" Kopf von Channichthys rhinoceratus. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
