Etymologie
Benannt zu Ehren von Spencer Harcourt Butler (1869-1938), Lieutenant-Gouverneur von Birma zur Zeit von Annandales Besuch in Yawnghwe, einem ehemaligen Shan-Staat im heutigen Myanmar, wo sich der Typusfundort (Inle-See) befindet. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Einzugsgebiet des Salween-Flusses (südlicher Shan-Staat, Myanmar; Yunnan, China); Eastern Ghats (Indien).

Gefahren für diese Art: Der bekannte Lebensraum wird zum Beispiel durch Verschmutzung beeinträchtigt, aber die Art gilt nicht als besonders anfällig für solche Einflüsse.
