Etymologie

Cetio- (= groß), bezogen auf "außerordentlich großen und dicken" Kopf von Cetonurus crassiceps; –urus, weil diese Gattung als Untergattung von Macrourus vorgeschlagen wurde. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
