Etymologie
Di- (= zwei); nema (= Faden), Anspielung nicht erklärt, bezieht sich vermutlich auf den langen Fortsatz der zweiten Rückenflosse und den kürzeren Fortsatz der Afterflosse (letzterer Fortsatz nicht immer vorhanden). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Indo-Westpazifik: Ostafrika und Madagaskar östlich bis Tonga und Samoa, nördlich bis zum südlichen Japanischen Meer.

Status: Stand 31.1.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
