Etymologie
Rostrata (= geschnäbelt), bezieht sich auf die lange und spitze Schnauze. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westatlantik: South Carolina, USA und Bermuda bis Tobago und die Kleinen Antillen (alle bisher vor Madeira nachgewiesenen Canthigaster-Exemplare gehören zu Canthigaster capistrata).
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 6.4.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
