Typusfundort: vor Matuku, 19°19.58'S, 179°41.83'E (Karte), Fidschi Inseln, Koro Meer, Südpazifik, Tiefe 315 Faden.
Etymologie
Diminutiv von guttata (= punktiert), bezieht sich auf "extrem kleine schwarze Punkte über und weitere unter der Seitenlinie". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Weit verbreitet im Indo-Westpazifik von Hawaii und Fidschi bis zum westlichen Indischen Ozean.
