Etymologie
Von aspasmos (= eine Umarmung), eine Anspielung, die nicht erklärt wurde. Vielleicht bezieht sie sich darauf, wie diese Fische mit ihrer adhäsiven Maulscheibe fest an losen Steinen zwischen den Spuren der Flut haften. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
