Typusfundort: Porsuk (Bach), ca. 3 km südlich von Hacıazizler, Provinz Kütahya, südliches Schwarzmeerbecken, Türkei, 39°20'59"N, 30°02'17"E (Karte).
Etymologie
Die Art ist nach Curt Kosswig (Hamburg & Istanbul), dem Vater der Ichthyologie in der Türkei, benannt.
Verbreitung
Alburnoides kosswigi ist aus dem Einzug des Sakarya River bekannt. Sie bewohnt schnelle, klare, fließende Gewässer mit Roll- und Kieselsteinen.
