Etymologie
Von aequus ( das slebe oder gleich); dens (= Zähne), bezogen auf die gleich großen Zähne von Aequidens tetramerus, vorgeschlagen als Unterart des Astronotus, der vergrößerte Frontzähne hat. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
