Typusfundort: Vor Listvenichnoe, Tiefe etwa 700 Meter, und Barjuzin Bay, Tiefe 619 Meter, südlicher Baikalsee, Russland.
Etymologie
-anus (= zugehörig zu:) Patronym nicht erklärt, aber fast sicher zu Ehren des russischen Ichthyologen Lev (oder Leo) Semjonowitsch Berg (1876-1950), der die Gattung 1906 vorschlug. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Gefahren für diese Art: Diese Art ist möglicherweise indirekt durch Verschmutzung, Wasserverbrauch und den Bau von Kläranlagen bedroht. Eine reichlich vorhandene Art, die keinen kommerziellen Wert hat.
