Etymologie

Von argenteus (= silbrig], bezogen auf helle, silberne Färbung (prä-linnéischer Name von Séba im Jahre 1759 geprägt). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Verbreitung

Tetragonopterus argenteus ist über das Amazonasbecken, den oberen Essequibo, Orinoco, Parnaíba, Jaguaribe, Paraguay und das unteren Paraná Flussbecken verbreitet.
