Typusfundort: Suurvlei River, Olifants River System, westliche Kap-Provinz, Südafrika, 32°38'56"S, 19°12'21"E (Karte).
Etymologie
Erubescens (= rot werden), was bedeutet, dass die Flossen von Männchen und Weibchen in der Brutsaison rot werden.
Verbreitung
Südliches Südafrika.
