Etymologie
Etymologie nicht geklärt, vielleicht von satyrus, ein Gott oder Dämon, in Anlehnung an zwei gabelförmige Verlängerungen am Ende der Schnauze von Satyrichthys rieffeli, wie die Hörner eines Dämons; ichthys (= Fisch). (Übersetzt aus: [ The ETYFish Project])
