Etymologie
Pteron (= Flosse), Anspielung nicht erklärt, möglicherweise bezogen auf lange Anal- und Zweitrückenflossen von Ptereleotris microlepis; Eleotris (Eleotridae), bezogen auf die vorherige Platzierung in dieser Gattung. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
