Typusfundort: Vor der Westküste von Kolumbien, 8°06'30"N, 78°51'W (Karte), Albatross Station 2797, Tiefe 33 Faden.

Verbreitung
Ostpazifik: Monterey Bay in Kalifornien, USA entlang des Kontinentalschelfs bis nach Peru, einschließlich Revillagigedo, Cocos und Galapagos-Inseln.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 15.05.2017: LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Grund für die Gefährdungseinstufung: Es scheint keine erhebliche Bedrohung für diese Art zu geben.
