Etymologie
Evolans (= wegfliegend), mit Bezug auf die langen, flügelartigen Brustflossen, die manchmal fast bis zum Schwanzflossenansatz reichen, Beschreibung basiert zum Teil auf der "kleineren fliegenden Trigla" von Browne (1756). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen bekannt. Diese Art könnte für eine lokale Ausbeutung anfällig sein, es gibt jedoch keine Berichte über einen Rückgang der Populationen oder deren Status.
