Etymologie
Prion (= Säge), bezieht sich wahrscheinlich auf "vollständig gezahnten Oberkiefer", d. h. mit Sägezähnen; brama, bezieht sich auf "oberflächliche Ähnlichkeit" mit dem europäischen Cypriniden Abramis brama. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
