Etymologie

Poros (= Pore), bezieht sich auf zahlreiche Poren auf dem Kopf von Porogadus miles; gadus (= Kabeljau), d.h. ein „Gadus-ähnlicher Fisch, mit Öffnungen in seiner Haut (Goode & Bean 1896). (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
