Typusfundort: Westlich von St. Lucia, Karibik, 13°47'N, 61°26'W (Karte), Dana Station 1183, 100 m Tiefe.

Verbreitung
Kosmopolitisches Vorkommen, aber verstreut: Ostatlantik: ein einziger Fund bei 3°S 19°W (Karte). Westatlantik: Kleine Antillen. Einzelexemplare aus dem Indischen und Pazifischen Ozean.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 9.05.2019:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Bedrohungen für diese Art sind unbekannt; angesichts seines Tiefwasserlebensraums ist es unwahrscheinlich, dass sich Bedrohungen auf diese Art auswirken.
