Typusfundort: zentraler Nordpazifik, Hawaii-Inseln, vor Oahu, 21°20'00"N, 158°20'00"W (Karte), 660–805 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Benannt nach Cynthia Klepadlo (1945–2020), ehemalige Sammlungsmanagerin der Marine Vertebrates Collection der Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, Kalifornien, USA. Sie war Expertin für Mittelwasserfische und spezialisierte sich auf Myctophiden und Stomiiformen mit besonderem Interesse an der Gattung Photonectes. Sie trug zur Beschreibung von sieben Arten von Photonectes bei – 25 % der bekannten Arten.

Pazifischer Ozean: vor Hawaii (bishe rnur vom Holotypus bekannt).
