Typusfundort: Vanuatu, 15°7'58.8"S, 166°52'58.8"E, (Karte), Schleppnetz Fang in 191–248 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Vom lateinischen geminatus (= Zwilling), in Anspielung auf die offensichtlich nahe phylogenetische Beziehung und oberflächliche Ähnlichkeit dieser Art zu Owstonia fallax.
