Typusfundort: Tansania: oberes Ruaha-Einzugsgebiet: ausgedehnte, flache Becken auf beiden Seiten der Straße an einem Durchlass, 1 km südwestlich der Eisenbahn bei Itigi, 5°41'56"S, 34°28'48"E (Karte).
Etymologie
Benannt nach der Gemeinde Itigi in Zentraltansania, in deren Nähe sich die Typuslokalität befindet.
Verbreitung
Tansania: in saisonalen Teichen und Sümpfen in Zentraltansania endemisch, die mit dem oberen Ruaha-Einzug und dem Bahi-Sumpfgebiet verbunden sind. Die Typlokalität in der Nähe von Itigi ist mit sumpfigem Gelände verbunden, das von den Bächen Mlumbi und Kisigo im äußersten Nordwesten des Ruaha-Flusssystems entwässert wird.
