Typusfundort: Mauritius: Westküste vor Wolmar, Geröll- und Sandboden in der Nähe der Basis eines Steilabstiegs, 56 m Tiefe.
Etymologie
Exquisit (= ausgezeichnet), weil diese Art nach Ansicht der Erstbeschreiber; "sowohl für seine Form als auch für seine Farbe" den Artnamen exquisita "verdient".
Verbreitung
Indischer Ozean: Von Mauritius, KwaZulu-Natal, Südmosambik, dem Roten Meer bis zur thailändischen Küste der Andamanensee und den Andamanen.
