Etymologie
Benannt in Bezug auf die gelbe Farbe der Schwanzflosse, im Gegensatz zu der weißlich grauen Farbe der Schwanzflosse von Mulloidichthys flavolineatus flavolineatus.
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer, nordwestlicher Indischer Ozean: Golf von Aden und Sokotra.
