Typusfundort: Östlich der Sacramento Shoal an der Godavari-Küste, Golf von Bengalen [östlicher Indischer Ozean], Untersuchungsstation 46, Tiefe 70 Faden.
Etymologie
Inermis (= unbewaffnet), mit Verweis auf "schwache Panzerung des Kopfes und biegsame Stacheln". (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Rotes Meer, nördlicher Indischer Ozean: Somalia und Golf von Oman östlich bis Indien, Myanmar und Westküste von Thailand.
IUCN Status
Status: Stand 12.05.2022:LC Least Concern (nicht gefährdet)
Gefahren für diese Art: Es sind keine größeren Bedrohungen bekannt, die sich auf diese Art auswirken, obwohl die Datenlage dürftig ist und mehr Forschung ein besseres Verständnis der möglichen Bedrohungen ermöglichen würde.
