Etymologie
Das Art-Epitheton orinoco bezieht sich auf die bekannte Verbreitung der Art, den Río Orinoco.
Verbreitung
Die Art ist von zwei Fundorten im unteren Orinoco in Venezuela bei der Stadt Ciudad Guayana bekannt. Diese Art wurde mit Schleppnetzen im Hauptkanal des Orinoco-Flusses, in Tiefen von 10 und 18 Meter auf sandigem und schlammigem Grund gesammelt. Ein Plastiksieb mit kleiner Maschengröße hing am hinteren Ende des Schleppnetzes. Das Fangen wurde stromabwärts für etwa 25 Minuten durchgeführt.
