Typusfundort: vor Dong-Gang, Pingtung, südwestliches Taiwan, nördliches Südchinesisches Meer (an einem Anlandeplatz gesammelt).
Etymologie
Benannt nach dem früheren portugiesischen Namen Taiwans: Formosa. Er bedeutet wunderschöne Insel.
Verbreitung
Bisher nur von der Typusserie bekannt, die im Südwesten Taiwans gesammelt wurde. Die Art scheint selten in Beifängen von Grundtrawlern zu sein.
