Etymologie
Von coccineus (= scharlachrot); taenia (= Band), bezieht sich auf einen scharlachroten Streifen durch das Auge zum Kiemendeckel. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
Verbreitung
Westlicher Indischer Ozean: Tansania bis Süd-Natal, Südafrika; auch vor Pakistan bekannt.
