Typusfundort: nördlich vor der Insel Mindanao, Philippinen, 8°47'00"N, 123°31'15"E (Karte), Albatross station D.5519, 182 Faden Tiefe.
Etymologie
Cypho (= Buckel), vermutlich bezogen auf die Kerbe im oberen Profil des Kopfes vor der oberen Augenhöhle. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
