Holotypus: ZSI 13028 (zerbrochene knöcherne Überreste unentwirrbar vermischt im selben Gefäß mit denen eines anderen Individuums).

Typusfundort: Andamanensee, 11°31'40"N, 92°46'40"E (Karte), Tiefe 188-220 Faden.
Etymologie
Nasuta (= großnasig), mit Bezug auf "weit ausgedehnte Schnauzenknochen, die weit über die darunter liegende tiefe halbrunde Höhle hinausragen".
Verbreitung
Östlicher Indischer Ozean sowie auf den Salomonen, Neukaledonien, Vanuatu und Australien im westlichen tropischen Pazifik. Die Exemplare wurden in Tiefen von 297-1141 m, hauptsächlich zwischen 300 und 600 m gefangen.
