Etymologie

Ochma (= halten); acanthus (= Dorn oder Stachel), vermutlich bezogen auf „krallenartige erektile“ operculare und präoperculare Stacheln bei Ochmacanthus flabilliferus. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)
