Etymologie
Benannt nach dem Mamirauá-Seen-System und dem "Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve" (Amazonas, Brasilien), der Typuslokalität. (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project)

Zwei Weißwasser-See-Systeme auf der Rio Solimões-Überflutungsebene im zentralen Amazonasgebiet (das Mamirauá-Seensystem bei Tefé und der Lago Janauacá bei Manaus), Bundesstaat Amazonas, Brasilien.
