Typen
Holotypus: USNM 92190.
Typusfundort: aus einem Tümpel im Bezirk von Guarico, Orinoco-Becken, Venezuela.
Etymologie
Gebändert, bezogen auf 11 schmale dunkle vertikale Balken an den Seiten beider Geschlechter, der letzte am Schwanzstiel (Übersetzt aus: The ETYFish Project).
Verbreitung
Orinoco-Becken, Kolumbien und Venezuela.
