Etymologie
Vom Lateinischen nanus (= Zwerg), auf die geringe Größe dieser Art anspielend.
Verbreitung
Die Art ist nur aus Australien bekannt (Cape York Halbinsel in Queensland und Arnhem Land im Northern Territory) und vom Fly River, Papua-Neuguinea. Australisches Material wurde aus klaren Bächen mit viel Feinkies auf dem Grund gesammelt. Höhe: einige Meter bis ungefähr 100 m.
